I like the small size and look of the lens.
But even after heavy pp, the files from this lens are too glow and soft and low contrast for my taste. I much perfer Voigtlander 50/1.1 and of course the Noct for sharpness and background blur.
Nothing absolute, it is really just personal like and dislike.

Personally I find that this lens offers a special mood that other lenses cannot.
I got a silver one, a black one, and two BP versions

Attached is a picture taken in a close friend's office, with the mere RD1s

K san, 100% agree. We cannot justify this lens just by the sense of the pictures quality. In fact, it has it's own advantage which makes me keep on my hands quite often. 1) the size and weigth, 2) Closest focal distance, 3) that thing which you mentioned.
