I also collect pencil from golf courses as well. Over 100 now. They are in my US home... ...

I stay in China. Too bad, Golf courses here don't provide wooden stick pencils now.

Bubu hing, they are nothing fancy and I am sure a lot of "old school" trained architects/engineers/draftsmen still have them somewhere hidden in the back of a drawer.   Mine are still probably sitting inside the box of stationaries the i shipped from the US!  

Found these pencils that I still use in the office, these have been with me since the early 90's.

Yes, in the old days, before computer was popularized, pencil was an indispensable part of the creative process.

To a pencil fan like me, every piece of pencil is fancy especially it has a story with the owner.

Bubu hing, lemme try to dig out my old pencils from school and show them.....and you are absolutely right, each pencil has its own story....

some i load with plastic leads, some i put in blue, some i put in H, some I put in B.....

This is a great one.

I am not familiar with mechanical pencils, what does the dial in the centre do?
I see markings of lead type.

you got it.  you just set the dial to whatever lead is inside.

This is really an interesting one for kids. Swing it, the drum sounds rather loud.
Can't imagine how rhythmic it could be when the whole class is swinging their pencils.
