Thanks Matthias and K-san 大大!
These are MTF charts @ f/5.6 of (1) 0.95; (2) 50 LuxA; and (3) 50 APO.
According to the charts @ f/5.6, the performance of 0.95 is actually better than 50 LuxA, though not as good as 50 APO.
Except at the far corners, @ f/5.6 0.95 can resolve tangentially and sagittally over 60% for 40 lp/mm, over 85% for 20 lp/mm, over 95% for 10 lp/mm, and over 98% for 5 lp/mm! This is quite incredible and a better performance than 50 LuxA!
In other words, contrary to common belief, 0.95 is more than good enough for landscape use. This is especially the case for panoramas, where the far sides are usually cut off and not used.
Even though it is a bit bulky, you can't go wrong with 0.95 as your only 50mm lens!
