I initially find a M-P240 cannot substitute my M9M for black and white photography. It's methadone maintenance therapy only.
Certainly an expert with skill of all sorts of masking and time to manoeuvre all parameters in Photoshop, a M-P image can simulate a M9M's.
My major problem of using M-P to shoot B&W now is the inability of using lens-front filters for grey tone control.
In either Photoshop, Lightroom or Silver Efex Pro 2, the filters' effect is faked and not genuine.
Having said that, I quite like the colour rendition of M-P240 much more than that of the A7.
