Same question: any danger in carrying your camera?
I replied in the Rio post. Pls check it there. In general, I felt safer in Rio to take out my camera, as there were more tourists there. In São Paulo, I was a bit hesitated at first, because I felt like I were in Harlem New York. But if you watch your back and don't go out at night, it should be fine. Or otherwise, get yourself a local tour guide or a "local friend", which I did.
Yes, but don't we have that in HK also? One can also get shot in NYC. I guess it's the same everywhere around the world. I did have the concern before I went, but one has just got to see it with one's own eyes, I would say. It's definitely not as bad as what internet says. But what I saw will also have to be discounted, due to the World Cup time.
