Ad Seeing that Leica have discontinued the superb M9P I think that they should bring a P version of the M240 out.

These would be MY specs for the camera:-

(1) 18MP
(2) Flash sync of 1/320th Sec with a FP setting as per Nikon with proper Pro Spec flashgun that would sync in FP mode at all shutter speeds.
(3) An external flash sync socket to allow for control of remote flashes via wireless link when using a supplementary viewfinder and off camera flash.
(4) No Video
(5) No Live view
(5) Sapphire crystal screen cover.
(7) .85 magnification viewfinder to give a good view for 50mm lenses.
(8) Frameline selector giving view for 90mm and 35mm

This to me would be my perfect M and would be a great professionally usable camera that would slot brilliantly for use alongside a pro DSLR.

same strategy as M9 -> M9P, quite disappointed tbh. cant see real innovation.

I suppose Leica doesn't want to trash the value of the thousands of M240 out there and those that are still on the shelves waiting to be sold. The last thing Leica wants to do is to antagonise loyal customers. The M-P might come across as nothing special, but a most predictable outcome from Leica.

that big screw annoys me, the screws on M3 look good to me though, the M-P screw is just too big, that doesn't seem come from a German designer
