According to my respected Leica specialist Lars Netopil, only 20~50pcs have ever been produced, and its original purpose is not for the lefty but the handicapped to use. This small accessory with a few decades of history is still suitable for using on today's digital M cameras accurately, showing Leica's insistence on some traditional designs of its products. What if the tiny device has any inaccuracy in its distance or angle measurement, it cannot be used on today's digital M cameras anymore!
Leica M用左手杆，根據我最尊敬的世界級萊卡專家Lars Netopil稱，生產數量常少，估計只若20~50只，而且原本並不是生產給左手人士，是殘廢人士用的。數十年前生產的配件還能精確地用左今天的數碼M机上，足見萊卡一直堅持著某些設計傳統，因為只要距離及角度有偏差，這小配件也不能用於現代數碼M上了！
