RX100 mk II is back-illuminated CMOS, i.e. the circuitry in the cmos is put in a reverse direction so that more light can hit on the sensor directly. theoretically it improves high iso performance.
but when i compared the files of RX100 and MK2, i found that the difference only visible on JPEGs. If you shoot RAW, I don't see any real difference in noise. In fact, I think RX100 has slightly better RAW files.
Another differences are: RX100 mk 2 has built-in wifi / tilted screen, hotshoe mount.
But mk2 is made in China
mk1 is made in Japan. I found the mk1 has better QC.
hope it helps! |
