For those who likes black and white film, here are a few taken by Kodak TX400 (shot at 230) and Ilford FP4+.  Both films were developed by Kodak HC110.  I keep a log for my development times.  If you want technical details, let me know.

You have a pair of good eyes.  I share with you that TX400 tends to have blacker black (and similarly whiter white) than its counterparts.   Unfortunately, I cannot really get TX400 developed right and, most of the time, the negatives turn out quite flat.  As a result, I have been trying to avoid using it.  Maybe I should give it a try again...

By the way, I think TMX is similar to TX400 in this regard.

As said, I feel that TMX has a similar tonal charactertisc as TX400.  Below are a few samlpes that I took indoor with the film.  I must say that I am extremely pleased with it.

If I didn't get it wrong, many B&W shooters regard Tmax 400 is finer, as opposed to 400TX.

That said, TriX has a strong and raw accent that some people particularly prefer to.
I have seen a British photographer's work with 400TX on Britain's rainy suburb. Very grainy but truly moody for the purpose.

Due to my poor skill and knowledge, my experience with TMY has been quite bad.  Again, the negatives are almost always too flat to my liking.  But you are right that TMY is a lot finer.  I can say that it is substantially better than TX400 and, for that matter, HP5.  I am of the view that TMY is more a high tech film.  As such, the old stuffs just cannot be compared against it.

I share with you also that the grain of TX400 can be aesthetically very pleasing.  I have tried to learn (replicate those results) but so far not very successful...

At times, I just want quick results, and do not want go to darkroom.  So I shoot with Ilford XP2 (假黑白), which can be processed by any c41 labs.  I learn to use XP2 many many years ago from a commercial photographer here in Hong Kong.  My experience with the film has been very positive, whether just scanning or actually printing.

Here are a few samples (These photos were taken in the late 90's.  I re-scanned them into digital form a number of years ago):

Yes, please do.  At least take some once in a while.  I think we need more users to sustain the market...
