according to the original poster, they are all direct jpeg output. then the color actually is quite decent, except for the first two pics. but it suspect it is due to lighting quality on the scene.
i think if using sony / zeiss E-mount lenses, both A7 and A7r are pretty good. my only hesitation is whether the two cameras are good for using M-mount lenses. previous reports show that the combination of M-mount lenses and A7 is not attractive. i hope there will be some better examples of a7r and m lenses appear soon!

Sony shop got demo machines, not sure if it allow us to mount other lenses to test? XDD
today, I saw a Leica fans mounted his 1st hand (like-new) 8-element on an A7.
but the setting (light source and variety in particular) at sony showroom is not good for camera / lens test
It seems so funny that the samples of A7 or A7R varies so much between users. Some are stunning (like in #121 posted by jason hing) while a lot are quite mediocre. I will definitely wait till chings in this forum has got the camera so that i can fully checkout what this camera can do.
yet given the c/p ratio, this camera is really the most attractive package out there now. The only serious hindrance on getting this is really the problem of pro-long shooting under EVF. I have tried the X-pro1 while it is first out and i don't really like the EVF experience.
